About Project

The Challenge Initiative (TCI) is a demand-driven program that strengthens systems, service delivery, local ownership, and sustainability in Family Planning and Reproductive Health (FP/RH).

The program positions city governments as key drivers of change while providing targeted technical assistance and capacity strengthening through structured coaching to improve governance, program management, and FP/RH service delivery.

TCI also supports cities in optimizing existing resources, including financing, institutional capacity, and human resources. In Indonesia, Jalin Foundation serves as the TCI Hub, working closely with city governments and key stakeholders under the leadership of Kemendukbangga/BKKBN.

A global program led by the William H. Gates Sr. Institute for Population and Reproductive Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
