About Project

The Meatless Monday Indonesia (MMI) Movement dedicates Monday to human health and a sustainable planet. The movement is part of the Meatless Monday Initiative introduced in 2003 by the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future (CLF) and has been running in more than 40 countries in 22 languages.

The Meatless Monday Indonesia Movement started in 2021. The movement does not just call for ‘no meat’ on Mondays. It encourages people to increase their consumption of healthy, nutritious food and maintain a balanced diet by eating more fruits and vegetables, buying local and seasonal produce, eating more plant-based foods, and adopting a healthy lifestyle. Such consumption patterns and lifestyles have become a new trend triggered by the pandemic.
